There are certainly genres that haven't been discovered yet. Of course I doubt new games will entirely cease to be made. The increase in modding's popularity is another indicator of this trend. I think this thinking is behind what must be a massive effort to reskin Morrowwind. And from a player's standpoint, there is something amazing about playing a game that has been developed for decades like DF or ADOM, because it is so much deeper, more detailed, and well-balanced than the average new game.

If one had a good RTS engine, for example, you could build a WWII simulator or a sci-fi setting on top of it with only a few mods plus new unit models. Really, there are not a whole lot of different game genres when you get down to it. The low-level character will now phase out and you should be able to finish this quest chain normally on your max-level character.I do wonder whether the future of gaming will eventually move towards a model like DF, ADOM, WoW, DOTA 2, EVE etc, whereby instead of completely new games every year that generally just feature updated graphics, we will instead see a few games in each genre becoming more and more fleshed out over the course of years or even decades. You will need to turn in the quest to the low-level player's companion Orkus. Have the low-level character wait and not complete the quest They Will Never Expect This. However, he should appear as a companion for the low-level character, and he can be interacted with by your max-level character. When you arrive, Orkus will still not appear for your max-level character.Invite the other character to a party and activate party sync (may not be needed). This means that they will at least need to complete Welcome to the Machine. This method will require someone to control a low-level character that is able to but HAS NOT completed this quest. Accept the quest on both characters and let them fly to Purgation Isle.Accept the invite on the low-level character. Invite your low-level character to a party. In a separate instance of World of Warcraft, log into your max-level character.Head to where Orkus is "drowning" and complete his quests through Kasha Will Fly Again. You will need to complete the quest Welcome to the Machine in order to trigger the Orkus chain to be activated.Once your low-level character is finished, head to Hillsbrad. If you need to level a character, I recommend doing Exile's Reach rather than any other starter experience as it is far faster. This method may be somewhat time-consuming since you will need to level a new character (unless you already have one leveled on a separate account). In order to do complete this quest on a max-level character without anyone assisting you, you will need to create a secondary starter WoW account, as both your max-level character and your low-level quest mule will need to be logged in concurrently. This requires another low level character which can either be controlled by another player, or you on a separate starter account.

Try resolving the other quests in the same zone, then return to this one.Ģ. If you have other quests active in the same zone, this quest completion might be phase shifted so you can't complete this one. In the meantime, you could also try the following (but it didn't work for me) -ġ.

Update: I did get a reply back from Blizzard, they did acknowledge that this has returned as a bug. I submitted a ticket, when I get a reply I will edit with an update. The only thing I have not yet tried, is accompanying a lower level toon through the quest. All the usual tricks don't seem to work: Resetting the UI, turning off all add-ons, log out / log in, dropping quest and re-acquiring.
